Whale Quest Kapalua Educates and Enthralls

From February 13th through 16th, those with a hankering to learn heaps of information about the largest mammals to visit the Hawaiian Islands should head to Maui's Kapalua Resort. The Ritz-Carlton hosts Whale Quest; a weekend-long celebration of the humpback whale, which happen to be most easily spotted off the shoreline that laps gently on West Maui.

The event is put together by Kapalua, the Ritz-Carlton and the Jean-Michel Cousteau Society's Ambassadors of the Environment program, which has recently gone in to full swing at Kapalua, educating inbound guests with a desire to "do good" while staying at the posh resort.

Over the course of the weekend, participants will view previously unseen footage of the graceful animals, hear top whale experts speak on the habits of the whales, listen to actual sonar recordings of whale-speak, and even venture out on the seas for a look at the magnificent creatures.

There will be a charity golf tournament over the course of the weekend, the proceeds of which will go towards two non-profit whale research companies. New this year is a keiki whale ambassador's program, ideally suited for 5 to 12 year old keiki.
