Waikiki Summer Concert Series, Al Fresco

Waikiki Summer Concert Series, Al Fresco

If you haven't seen an outdoor concert at the Waikiki Aquarium, then this is the summer that you should break the trend. The Thursday evening "Ke Kani O Ke Kai" summer concert series has been an annual event that brings in the top Hawaiian artists, puts them onstage facing the lapping shoreline of Waikiki, and offers unparalleled sunset views as the music takes hold. Impromptu hula performances, food and beverage vendors and the aquarium's wildlife are aspects that enhance the evening affairs.

The concerts begin this summer mid-June. Here's a list of the scheduled performers:

June 18 — The Brothers Cazimero

 July 2 — Hoku Zuttermeister

 July 16 — Kaumakaiwa Kanakaole

 July 30 — Maunalua

 August 13 — Willie K.

Each Thursday evening of the series doors will open at 5:30 p.m.; concerts begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for kids 7 to 12 years, and free for 6 year olds and below. A special pre-sale price is available for entrance to all five concerts, at $90 (or $75 for Friends of Waikiki Aquarium members).

Purchase tickets at the Honolulu Box Office (www.HonoluluBoxOffice.com) or by swinging by the aquarium.
