Roth & Lancaster Winemaker Dinner, March 10

Youngest Winemaker in the U.S. to partner with Tiki's Chef Ronnie Nasuti for 5-course Extravaganza

Roth & Lancaster Winemaker Dinner, March 10

Chef Ronnie Nasuti is hot off an extensive research/recon trip through the East Coast and New York City—and he's looking to showcase some of his top culinary finds during the first specialized wine dinner of 2014. Nasuti will collaborate with esteemed winemaker Jesse Katz from Roth & Lancaster Wines in a multi-course eating extravaganza on March 10, at 6:00 p.m.

Katz will be present, and will regal dinners with some of his most passionate moments in winemaking—which include a stint producing for cult wine Screaming Eagle. A veteran of both Napa and Argentine winemaking studies, Katz was the youngest head winemaker in the U.S. when he started Lancaster Estate and Roth. He also made a custom blend for pals Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, which was served exclusively at their wedding.

Katz's wines have consistently scored above 90+ on Robert Parker's ratings. The upcoming dinner with Nasuti in the kitchen will feature both Roth and Lancaster wine pairings.

The $75 dinner (inclusive of wine, tax and tip) begins with:

Roth Sauvignon Blanc 2011 with (amuse-bouche) slow braised & grilled Hawaiian octopus, Kahuku sea asparagus, kukui nuts, Big Isle finger limes.

Next up, Roth Chardonnay 2011 with Nasuti's confit of island opah, local fennel, Hamakua mushroom oyster cream

Course 2 will feature Roth's Pinot Noir 2011, served alongside sous vide duck "two-some"—confit of duck hash baklava, smoked gouda and caramelized Kula onions.

Course 3 will move to the Roth Cabernet Sauvignon from 2010, paired with olive oil poached Kulana beef tenderloin, chocolate and aubergine agrodolce.

Course 4 puts you in front of a Lancaster Cabernet Sauvignon from 2009, next to a Colorado lamb rack chop over blue polenta, wilted tatsoi and finished with Big Island jabuticaba mostarda.

The 5th and final course will wind down with Lancaster Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 and "burrata" Big Isle mangosteen, Nalo honey, basil and roasted grapes.
