Love Is In The Air. And So Should You Be. En Route To Hawaii's Romance Fest

Matt Catingub Orchestra's First Annual Hawaii Romance Festival Announces Rates Pleasant Holidays, Starwood resorts and the first annual Hawaii Romance Festival have teamed up to offer some great 4-night accommodations packages this May. The 2008 festival, organized by performing artist Matt Catingub, brought in A-list acts that included Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, Aaron Neville and Boz Scaggs, in addition to number of legendary local artists.

The 2008 festival took place May 8th to May 12th, and appeared on various stages and venues found throughout Oahu. The 2009 Romance Festival will take place from May 1 – 14.

Packages are air inclusive, and originate from Los Angeles and San Francisco (additional departure cities are available, inquire with your travel professional for fee changes). They include round trip airport transfers, lei greeting, four-nights in a Starwood Waikiki hotel, first day breakfast, a special Romance Festival dinner, 2 concerts, and the final evening's gala performance.

The love kicks off on Friday, May 9th, with iconic Smokey Robinson's 7:00 p.m. Waikiki Shell concert. Robinson, who hasn't stepped foot in Hawaii for 20 years, is one of the most romantic of the legendary Motown crooners. The Matt Catingub Orchestra will back Robinson, who will call to the stage guests that include Robert Cazimero, Cecilio
Kapono, Eric Gilliom, Nathan Aweau and Barry Flanagan (of Hapa) and Kaukahi.

Saturday, May 10th, is "The Rhythm of Romance" event at the Blaisdell Arena, at 7:30 p.m. Superstar Gladys Knight will hold down the stage, with a little help from soul singer Aaron Neville, and other members of the Matt Catingub Orchestra.

Sunday, May 11th, is the "Pink Night Concert" at the color-appropriate Royal Hawaiian Hotel's Coconut Grove. Honoring Mother's Day, the Pink Night concert will feature Boz Scaggs' first-ever public appearance in Hawaii.
