Brand new Hawaii-based lifestyle magazine covers travel, fashion, philanthropy, gear and sport... with a healthy dose of equestrian and polo imagery.

Dawson Media Hawaii is proud to announce the launch of Hawaii Polo Life magazine, which will be lauded in epic style on O’ahu’s North Shore on Sunday, May 19th, 2013. Guests and attendees—clad in all-white garb—will be treated to elegant cocktails and light canapes from Hawaii’s leading chefs, mixologists and distillers. An informal fashion show will showcase couture summer wear from a number of the magazine’s partners

, including the latest from Letarte Swimwear, as styled by Kim Smith. There will be tasteful live music followed by a renown DJ. JN Exotics will debut a brand new Maserati in addition to other enviable autos. But best of all—it’s your chance to welcome the newest magazine produced entirely in Hawaii for those who appreciate the polo lifestyle. 

A limited number of tickets for the VIP affair are currently available through DawsonHawaii.com, proceeds from which will benefit Hawaii Autism Foundation. VIP doors open at 1:00 p.m., and the party will last until 6:00 p.m. Two premier polo matches—the nationally ranked Makaha Fierce young women’s team exhibition match followed by teams Ferrari vs. Maserati will ensue at 1:30 and 2:00 p.m., respectively. 
 

The magazine was conceptualized by USPA Circuit Governor and Dawson Media founder Christopher Dawson; nationally-awarded Editorial Director and Publisher Brian Berusch; and Dawson Media Executive Director Mariana Castro. The publication was designed by the incomparable Chris Hendricks; the majority of imagery in the magazine was captured and produced by C.J. DeWolf. 

Far from yet another “polo program,” Hawaii Polo Life is a succinct lifestyle magazine that steers far from over-the-top luxury that most magazines clamor for. HPL features accessible gear, fashion, travel, food, wine, spirits and sport attainable by those with good taste and a sense of adventure. 

Debuting as an annual, the 2013 Edition features travel stories (written by professional or competitive polo players) to destinations like India, New Zealand, South Africa and more; local leading chefs and mixologists contributed by sharing their favorite fare or spirits that transport well to the polo grounds, yet still worthy of a chenille blanket and legitimate glasswear. A watch section features timepieces worn and respected by international polo players and their entourages. There is a piece on equestrian philanthropy. And of course, there are countless stories on the sport of polo, ranging from how to raise a polo pony to the latest happenings at clubs on Maui and Hawaii Island.
