Forecast: Snowfall Expected Heaviest at Makapuu

Get the kids bundled up in hats, scarves and gloves. Toss the slippahs aside and bust out the boots. There is 14 tons of snow forecasted to fall over Makapu`u this Saturday, December 19th.

That's right, you read correctly. The folks at Sea Life Park have decided that Hawaiian keiki shouldn't be without the holiday experience of making snow men, snow angels or tossing the obligatory snow ball at dad's crotch (It happens. And it's always funny). This year's "Snow by the Sea" event is open to all, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Jesus Bravo (for real!), the park's general manager, wants to remind parents to truly bundle up their kids. The snow is real; it is being churned out by giant snow machines that will spray the park's meadow with the frosty white stuff.

"Snow by the Sea" is free with park admission. After posing next to your snowman, head over to the dolphin tanks for a swim. Now, where else can you do that!
