Chef David Paul Teams with Whole Foods Market, More

It is one thing for a celebrated chef to participate in community events; yet it's quite another for him to draw attention to educating our children (at a time when The State doesn't care to) while spotlighting the sustainable farm system. You have probably guessed by now we're talking about chef David Paul Johnson, of David Paul's fame, who has a slew of upcoming public appearances that you just might want to find yourself at.

On Friday, April 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Whole Foods Market in Kahului, Maui, and DAvid Paul invite families to spend their Furlough "Fry"day enjoying a festive farmer's market. The Maui Farm will present a program at 10:00 a.m., followed by a cooking demonstration by David Paul, which is open to all. There will be many opportunities to sample Maui-grown products, such as Alii Kula Lavender, Maui Ono Farms goods, and more. Kahanu Aina will give a "Snacks You Can Grow" talk at noon.

Throughout the day, you can purchase herb starters from the Maui Farm stand, and sample goods grown by affiliate farmers. Additionally, information will be on hand to let you know how and where you can support local farmers throughout Maui. 

Whole Foods Market is located at 70 East Kaahumanu Avenue, in Kahului.

On Saturday, April 17th, David Paul's Island Grill will host the Diva Club's  "Women Helping Women", a social club for women to share their businesses, ideas and talk story while enjoying the chefs elegant pupus and cocktails in the setting of his Front Street eatery and lounge.  This event takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The following day, Sunday, April 18th, David Paul offers cooking classes in his professional kitchen at the Grill. For $150 per person, you can participate in preparation, secret chefs tips, a full lunch, receive a custom apron and memories that will last a lifetime. Private groups are welcome to sign up. Space is limited to 12 adults.

Wednesday, April 21, David Paul welcomes vintners from Clos Du Val Cellars in Napa, California, for a special multi-course dinner and wine pairing experience. Guests will have an exclusive opportunity to sip exquisite wines that have been masterfully paired to dishes from chef David Paul's arsenal. Pre-paid reservations are required; tickets are $85 per person. The reception starts at 6:15 p.m. proceeded by dinner at 7:00 p.m.
