Celebration of the Arts – May 9 - 11, 2014

This weekend, May 9 – 11, the Ritz Carlton Kapalua presents an astonishing array of cultural offerings over the course of a storybook weekend entitled "Celebration of the Arts." Perched on a pine tree lined hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean (and neighboring isles of Lanai and Molokai), Celebration of the Arts is an incredible opportunity to delve into multiple aspects of Hawaiian culture. These include visual arts, performance, demonstrations, culinary offerings and of course, all the grandeur the Ritz Carlton has to offer.

IONA Dancers Host Dinner, Fundraiser

Poolside Dining and Show to Benefit Contemporary Dance in HNL

What's better than an evening spent supporting the arts and imbibing on food prepared by a James Beard-nominated chef fresh off the boat from exile in Kaua‘i? Nothing! (Good guess.) Honolulu's IONA contemporary dancers have joined forces with the Sheraton Waikiki and Colin Hazama (formerly of Jean-Georges' Kauai Grill) to present a Mayan-themed evening of dining and dancing on Saturday, October 8, 2011. The fete will take place around the newly refinished Helumoa Pool starting at 6:00 p.m.

Get Your '80s On... And Like It!

Hall & Oats and English Beat Take HNL this March

There's really no explaining it; you're driving to work, to the beach, whatever, and a song comes on the radio. There's a drum machine-driven beat. A weird sample you can't quite put your finger on (but it sounds oh-so-like high school, revisited) echoes in the background. Finally, that all-too-familiar synthesizer (it may even be one of those contraptions that straps across the back like a guitar, only, it's not)
