Those of you who think the offerings on the golden shores of Wailea, Maui, are out of your price range—think again. Next week is the first-ever installment of "Restaurant Week Wailea", which will offer affordable 3-course dinners at many of "the strip's" top eateries, from May 24 through May 30th. The menus are $39 per person at the majority of restaurants, with a few offering the dinner for $29. They include unique three-course, pre-fixe dinners (exclusive of beverage, tax and gratuity).

With proceeds benefitting the Maui Food Bank, Restaurant Week Wailea participants includes: Capsiche?, Duo, Ferraro's, Joe's, Ko, Longhi's, Mala Wailea, Matteo's, Mulligan's, Nick's Fishmarket, Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Tommy Bahamas and Humuhumunukunukuapua'a.

Examples of the fare offered are: At Duo at the Four Seasons, a Surfing Goat Cheese Fritter with oven-roasted ratatouille and baby beet emulsion, followed by choice of filet mignon or mahi mahi in a Thai curry sauce. Dessert is a berry pavlova with Tahitian vanilla and lime granite. At Ko in the Fairmont Kea Lani, dinners  have a choice of Portuguese bean soup, spicy tempura Ahi sushi, sesame chicken salad or Filipino Lumpia spring rolls. Next up is the option of a Maui Cattle Co. rib-eye steak or fresh catch served crusted in Macadamia nut, or Korean-style spicy chicken with shrimp fried rice. Ko ends with a Wailua Estate grown chocolate baked custard, a caramel leche flan, banana lumpia or German chocolate cake.
